USEED@UAlberta is a powerful tool for fueling initiatives at University of Alberta, through crowd-sourced philanthropic giving called "crowdfunding." Is my donation tax-deductible?

All funds received will be deposited with and distributed through the University of Alberta, a registered non-profit organization. Your payment may be considered a charitable contribution. Please consult your tax adviser regarding the deductibility of charitable contributions.

The University of Alberta charitable registration number, as recognized by the Canada Revenue Agency, is 10810 2831 RR0001.

The University is licensed to operate as a Charitable Organization by the Alberta Government (Licence/Registration Number: 210551).

Since March 15th, 1983, the University of Alberta has been recognized in the U.S.A. as organized and operated exclusively for educational purposes (exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal revenue Code, Identification Number 98-6001254).

Where is my donation going?

Your donation will be deposited with the University of Alberta and will distributed to the lab, program or department leading your selected project. Gifts are subject to university policies and fees.

What happens if a campaign doesn’t meet its funding goal?

If a project does not meet its funding goal, collected funds may be used to support the current project or other initiatives within the program.

What happens if a campaign is overfunded?

If a project exceeds its funding goal, additional project funds beyond the stated goal amount may be used towards the project. Any funds available after the project ends may be used to benefit other projects within the program.

What is your Refund Policy?

Under Canadian Law, the University of Alberta is not able to refund charitable donations.

If you notice a discrepancy or error with your online transaction, please contact us at giftpro@ualberta.ca. Please include your name, telephone number, and the date and amount of your transaction. The University of Alberta will resolve the discrepancy as quickly as possible.
